About us

Greens at Gretna is known as “The First Restaurant in Scotland,” because it’s the first restaurant you’ll find after crossing the border from England. Located just off the M6 northbound and A74(M) southbound, we are situated in the historic village of Gretna, famed for its own tales of romance and illicit marriage. Whether you’re visiting the Famous Blacksmith’s Shop, staying at Smiths or Gretna Hall in Gretna Green, or just passing through, Greens at Gretna is a perfect place to enjoy a freshly-cooked meal.

Had a meal here with my family, service was not great. Basically felt like, sit yourself over there and ill get with you at some point. Main courses were nice, price felt a little high for the quality though. The cheesecake had split and the portion was small. Probably won't be back.

First visit to Greens for a family lunch. Absolutely first class all round. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was wonderful - fresh and hot and generous portions, all reasonably priced. And on top of everything, very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend, and will be back.

Went here on Bank Holiday Sunday we were the only people in restaurant. Ordered from menu fish and chips, food was terrible, sent it back and asked for a refund. Will not be returning the venue looks good from outside but that's all.

We booked for a meal after our friends got married. The food was delicious and the staff were so helpful. Would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

We got a deal for dinner, bed and breakfast on living social for this hotel, the hotel was spotless, rooms are spacious and the staff were friendly. If you required more tea bags for normal tea you just asked and they gave you more. In the deal we got the dinner included 2 course I had the steak which was cooked to the way you liked it this came with a mushroom and chips, I had chocolate cake and ice cream for my pudding which was nice. My boyfriend had potato skins to start with which was just enough and macaroni cheese with garlic bread and chips but does come with the option of salad. After dinner you can sit in the nice relaxed bar area and chill out. The breakfast is buffet style and self service, you have to make your own tea and coffee and toast.
