A Grade II Listed building surrounded by beautiful parkland near the heart of Lancaster city centre. We have a selection of seriously good pub food and expertly chosen drinks ranges for you to enjoy.
Three of us went for an evening meal to this restaurant on 18th December. The staff and surroundings were lovely but the food wasn’t. I’m not a fussy eater but none of us enjoyed what we had. We didn’t complain at the time as the young staff were so nice. But we’ll never go back and I wouldn’t recommend going there to anyone. It’s such a pity as it’s potentially a very good venue but the standard of the food doesn’t do it justice at all. And if you insist on trying it out beware of the parking meters! I didn’t see it as it was a very wet dark night and I had to pay out £60 parking charge which I’m really not happy about. I feel the automated voice on the phone when you ring up to book should say that there is a parking fee.
Went with a large group (25 people). Food was great, the servers were very nice and attentive with our large group. Would highly recommend plus nice Christmas decorations.
Mrs G raves about this place, so when it was time for a meal with the in-laws she chose here. My first visit, and it's a beautiful old building and positive first impressions. Good choice of menu. So why four stars you ask? For me, just a couple of points: The gravy - with the mushroom and ale pie - was far too rich for my liking, so I'm glad I tried it before pouring (it tasted too meaty for a vegetarian dish, if you know what I mean). After a wait one of our party had to go and find a server to ask for dessert, and the place wasn't that busy. Minor points in the grand scheme of things and nothing that would put me off returning. The in-laws were happy, especially as it was my turn to pay (over £100, with drinks, for the four of us).
“Our recent visit to The Greaves Arms in Lancaster was nothing short of exceptional. We gathered a party of 14 for a memorable family meal, and from the moment we walked in, we were met with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The pre-ordered meal for our large group was executed flawlessly, a testament to the careful attention to detail and commitment to excellence displayed by the staff. My personal choice, the rib roast dinner, was an absolute delight. The flavors were immaculate, and each bite was a savory journey. The service was outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the overall enjoyable experience. The ambience of The Greaves Arms provided the perfect backdrop for our gathering, combining cozy and inviting elements to create a relaxed yet sophisticated setting. In summary, The Greaves Arms exceeded our expectations in every aspect - from the culinary expertise showcased in the meals to the impeccable service and the inviting ambience. This is undoubtedly a go-to venue for a remarkable dining experience in Lancaster. We eagerly anticipate our next visit to savor more of their culinary delights and exceptional service."
