A good selection of beers and spirits. Especially enjoyed one of the IPA's and would go back for that. The decor is rustic and quaint. Unfortunately there is a lingering odour of foistiness that hasn't shifted in months. The function room downstairs boasts an impressive sound system and has good sound quality in most areas of the room.

A great new venue for ‘Fax, or rather more accurately, a great venue that has moved to much better premises, though I did love their old venue. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, a good beer selection, well priced. It’s a bar on the ground floor, music venue in the basemen. We saw the first band to play there, The Incident. Sound was good considering it was the first gig staged there. They’re already booking some good acts. Highly recommended, I wish them luck!

I've been wanting to pop in here for a while, so it was with great pleasure that we missed our train and needed to find somewhere to wait for an hour out of the rain. This is a lovely social space, with a good range of real ale on our visit ranging from pale to a great market porter. There are a variety of seating areas from tables to what I think were old bus seats down one side! A nice large window out front probably makes this lovely and light during daytime. Staff were super friendly and helpful, making us very welcome and tipping us off to a ska band playing in the basement (who were brilliant, I must add!) Whilst I didn't spend very long here, the atmosphere was great, the other patrons sociable and chilled, and I will definitely be heading here again when I get a chance. One thing I did take note of was the defensibility during a zombie apocalypse. Whilst that big window could be problematic, I am confident it could be barricaded quite easily, and the layout should make it easy to defend with a small group. You could have far worse lock-ins, and you'll be confident of a good range of beers to last you for a little while 😂

Favourite watering hole in Halifax, just moved to a larger location and still full of character and has the same warm welcoming feel and vibe of their previous smaller spot 😀 Great selection of beers on tap 👌🏼 🍺 Decor and friendly staff make this my first destination when in Halifax. Oh and they have live bands a plenty which I need to get myself too sharpish! 🎶🎸Fab area now for the bands to play, great work guys! 👏🏼
