Had one of the of the suites with the hot tub and stayed in room 406. This was bought as a Christmas offer ans paid £150 which included a welcome cocktail, a pick of 5 tapas plates and breakfast. So this room is usually priced at £250 a night so I was expecting it to spot on. The room was nice but nothing special, it was quite small. We were told to call down to reception when ready to order food and drinks. On doing this the phone did not work, on trying to suss this for some time it could be seen part of the phone had been disconnected. The air conditioning was broken and did not work and was damaged. There was a coffee machine in the room which was a nice touch but sadly we had no spoons with our cups in order to stir the drinks, small issues I know and I wasn't bothered but for the proce of the room you expect these small derails to be noticed. On walking out the balcony where the hot tub was located there was no hot tub cover and the hot tub was covered by green tarpaulin, this looked untidy and tacky, again if I had paid £250 for this room it would not be acceptable. The bath room had some sort of plastic cover on the bath which had come off and was on the floor leaving a hole which you could see under the bath. We were only provided 2 large towels which I thought was strange as when using the hot tub and shower/bath then would ideally need 4. On the plus side we were given robes and slippers. The food was very nice and was given a hot chocolate in the evening which was also nice, the service was also good. I feel for the £150 was not a bad deal, however If I hae paid £250 I would not have been happy and would expect alot better quality. I feel these small things need addressing for the price asking.

Booked here for Sunday lunch and it was so good! Very tasty, well seasoned and plenty for us. I had the beef and my partner had the pork, both ere lovely. Service was great and all the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back

A friend and I came here yesterday for lunch and cocktails, we were not disappointed! Cocktails were delicious and in our opinion the food was out of this world, we both struggled to finish our meals which I see as a bonus. Staff were friendly and the service was quick but thorough. Would happily go back any day and I highly recommend going.

Spent 2 nights for work. The photos i saw at booking are completely different to reality. If you are ever told that they are upgrading you to a larger family room. Refuse it if you can. The family room located 1st floor facing a loud busy road cross junction. These are the least desirable rooms in the hotel. In contrast the food is great here. Breakfast itself deserves it's own 5 star rating.

I had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel. The location was fantastic, right opposite the train station. There was a nice bar and the barman was a dude who loved music. The rooms were comfy. My highlight was the cockle popcorn which they served in the hotel restaurant.
