About us

The Swan offers fresh, seasonal and local produce, a good mix of traditional British cuisine, some familiar classics and contemporary dishes all homemade and cooked to order and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The Swan is full of character, as befitting it's 200 year old history, with different cosy areas to hide away in. Alternatively, weather permitting, we offer outdoor dining on our decked terrace or 2 acre beer garden which enjoy panoramic views.

Our menu changes every three months to reflect seasonal dishes and our chefs imaginations.

For many, Sundays just wouldn’t be the same without a roast dinner, so on a Sunday at the Swan we offer a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmimgs, beautifuuly prepared by our chefs and served between 12 - 6 pm.

We had a super meal here last Friday. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great. There were 2 large groups in and this didn't seem to affect service at all. Thank you for making a long overdue get together a very enjoyable evening.

My friend and I had a wonderful lunch. We chose the 5oz steak light bite, to allow us to enjoy the sticky toffee pudding. It was cooked perfectly, arrived promptly and served with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Warm and friendly with a great choice of menu. Highly recommend.

Was driving past this Sunday and thought me and the family could go in for a roast, we were seated very fast even though we hadn’t booked and it was very busy! All the staff were very polite and were accommodating to my wife’s dietary requirements. I had the beef and it was very delicious and I would definitely love to have it again! Both my boys, George and Joe, had the kids roast chicken and they thoroughly enjoyed it, both had clean plates! Will definitely be coming back again!

We arrived and was offered a table for 2 in the middle of the room near a post. I asked for a different table and was shown to a nice table which we were pleased about the menus were literally thrown on the table and told there are your menus. We went on to order drinks and the food, when the food arrived I asked for butter as we had pate and toast the waitress let out a sigh as if it was too much for her ( she is obviously in the wrong job ) I have worked in hospitality for over 30 years and you need to remember the customer is paying your wage! The good was ok but not great having a slice of toast with the unseasoned pate is a bit cheap! The pork loin was lovely but the potatoes tasted like they were yesterday's roasted ones. The waitress with the darker hair to whom we paid the bill was lovely .

Passing by and spontaneously stopped off for a spot of lunch. Good selection of food and drink options available from menu. Opted for steak and onion baguette which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. It was quiet in The Swann over lunchtime so it was nice to have some time to chat in a relaxing environment. Heavy rains stopped us from sitting outside, which looks to have a nice outdoors area when better weather
