Friendly barmaid, very busy. Difficult to get to bar as it was surrounded by locals. Food was nice, very much reduced choice from the online menu tho. Restaurant area does not have much character as it's mostly painted.

Some of the absolute best cooking I’ve had. The chef could go up against the best in London or New York in my opinion. It’s comfy pub fare, but so perfectly cooked that it becomes something truly special. The proprietors are kind and charming, and made us feel right at home. Simple rooms, but comfy enough for a few nights while hiking through the hills or if you need a place to stay, as we did, while attending a wedding at nearby Owlpen Manor.

A very friendly country pub, the food was absolutely delicious, we were advised to book, it’s a small dining room so glad we did.

Booked Sunday Lunch again at The Crown and again had a lovely meal. Staff where welcoming and friendly with big smiles. Food has been freshly prepared each visit and the meat was perfectly cooked on both occasions. The portions are generous with extra gravy offered straight away. All in all a lovely pub and equally lovely food. We will DEFINITELY go back again for a relaxed very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Thank you to all the staff and compliments to the chef, I'm a hard person to impress when it comes to good food, and I will happily say I'm more than impress. Thanks again to all. Unable to visit our usual dining place in the area (they don’t take dogs inside), The Old Crown came up as our wet weather alternative. Taking dogs, easy booking online, warm welcome, delicious food. I had a salad which was more like a ploughman’s, and it was probably the most delicious ploughman’s I’ve had. Often the bread is really dry - this was warm, soft. The cheeses, ham, pickles went well together. We will return to the Old Crown. A good find courtesy of the English “summer”!
