LATER ON, MAKE SURE YOU POP OVER TO THE LOCALS BAR FOR A NIGHT CAP AND A GAME OF POOL. WHEN THE MUSIC NUDGES UP AS THE NIGHT GOES ON, YOU’LL FIND YOURSELF STRUGGLING TO LEAVE.

Did not stay overnight so can’t rate the rooms. Absolutely fabulous Sunday Lunch today, sat next to the crackling open fire. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Had the flatbread from the specials board with nduja, honey and potato, and also the croquettes. Both were so flavoursome. Main courses were two pizzas and roast sirloin of beef with plenty of beautifully cooked veg, crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and the best cauliflower cheese. The beef was medium rare and plenty of it too! The pizzas were very very good. Can’t wait to return! 🫶🏼🤌🏽
Food was incredible. Service was mostly very good. Room was nice although lacked in charm somewhat. Location is a little funny if like us you don't have a car. Local taxis are incredibly expensive - for example a 3 mile ride cost us £30. But this is not the fault of The Stump, of course, just mentioning as it's good for others to know. There isn't a lot of room in the pub to sit around and enjoy a drink as the restaurant takes up most the space. Overall though I would recommend this place.
It was a very good evening with friends. We had a whole room booked up for all 10 of us for Christmas dinner. The service was very good and organised. The food was delicious and quite creative. The rooms we stayed in were clean, cozy and well equipped. The only negative I can say, is that the door of the rooms was quite difficult to close resulting in a loud closer. But everything else was superb!
Our first visit and will be definitely going back again. We only went in for lunch and drinks. Service and food was great. Next time we are going to have Pizza as their selection was good. Worth a visit!
The staff were amazing. The pizza was good. They added a tip to the bill without asking though, which a deal-breaker for me. Ask all you want, but adding it automatically is tacky. I know you can ask to take it off, but we all know they are hoping you'll be too self-conscious too. Really rubs me the wrong way. A real shame as we would have returned otherwise.
