Real pub, friendly community pub, centre of village life - excellent home cooked local food, well kept real ales (CaskMarque accredited) good range of affordable wines, clean & pleasant accommodation. All the team at The George Inn, Blackawton can be relied upon to provide a warm welcome to all visitors, be they local or from further afield.
Stopped in the other day, great food reasonable prices lovely vibe and friendly staff what more could you want from a village pub :)
Lovely hosts who bent over backwards to help us out. We had a disturbed first night due to a constantly refilling cistern and they obligingly moved is to another room for our second night where we slept really well. Good is great and breakfast is one of the best I've had in a place like this. Such a friendly helpful team, I'm sure we will be back if they'll have us.
Quirky little inn, very large room and comfortable bed, good quality towels. Tea and coffee in room available. The cleanliness required more attention, cobwebs far too easily to spot. Mobile reception quite poor . Foh team is helpful and smiley ,Breakfast is OK .
Great food, great drinks, stylish accommodation and fab service from such a wonderful team! Such a cosy atmosphere and stunning views across the rolling hills. Always a warm welcome! We can't recommend The George enough!
Nice room with quirky, interesting, slightly shabby decor. Fantastic customer service - had to postpone our stay due to family illness. This was offered immediately, at no extra cost, by the George, even though we were beyond the cancellation deadline when we contacted them. Very friendly welcome. And the BEST pub breakfast I've ever had. Delicious! Tricky to park - the small car park was full so we parked on a nearby road and got a less friendly welcome from a local resident. But this wasn't the pub's fault of course.
