We tried the George after seeing a post regarding Sunday lunches and it was one of the best Sunday lunches we’ve ever had eating out. The food was all cooked to perfection and was extremely tasty. The staff were also amazing and looked after us from start to finish. Highly recommend.

We booked a room at The George Country Inn for just one night as we were visiting friends nearby. Our room was clean and very nicely decorated - colourful &, we thought, in good taste. The bed was comfortable & cosy. The bathroom was also clean, a good size with quality fittings and a lovely shower. Choices for the evening meal were varied; portions generous! Similarly breakfast was delicious. We found the staff to be friendly, polite and helpful. A pub with character - highly recommended! We hope the new owners are successful in their venture.

Having been through different ownerships of late, we ate there this evening with young children and the food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. We really enjoyed it and will sure to be back again soon

Such a lovely pub in a pretty little village called Wrath, North Yorkshire off A1M. It’s conveniently located if you are travelling nearby on the motorway as the food was delicious and they catered well for gluten free veggie options too!

Just had a really delicious meal at The George in Wath, so would thoroughly recommend. Was shown a couple of the bedrooms and they looked very comfortable too. I know they are waiting for the phone line to be installed so don't be put off if you can immediately make contact - I popped in because I was local to check they had space. Definitely worth the effort of an email.
