Absolutely marvellous food , nice big portion too. You can guarantee the chips are the best to date . Amazing food
Christmas meal for 12, although the food was nice, orders were mixed up and even after landlady admitted responsibility it was looked over and two of our party had to eat main courses they didn't order or like, sat with our coats on as it was so cold , there was a log burner in the corner of the room ,unlit, no Christmas crackers, decorations etc, couple of the regulars made comments to one of our party. Very unwecolming atmosphere from couple of the staff, could wait to go home after meal to get warm, won't be going back, very unprofessional.
The George and Dragon in Heighington is a charming pub with a rich history, but it may not be the best choice for those seeking a casual drinking experience. The pub prioritises food tables, and there is limited seating for drinkers. Atmosphere: The George and Dragon has a traditional pub atmosphere, with dark wood paneling, a cozy fireplace, and a friendly staff. However, the pub can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours. Seating: There is limited seating for drinkers at the George and Dragon. Most of the seating is at tables, which are reserved for diners. This can make it difficult to find a place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends. Drinks: The George and Dragon has a good selection of beers and wines. However, the prices are a bit on the high side. Overall: The George and Dragon is a good choice for those seeking a traditional pub atmosphere and a delicious meal. However, it is not the best choice for those seeking a casual drinking experience. If you are looking for a pub with a more relaxed atmosphere and more seating for drinkers, I would recommend trying another pub in the area.
Best Sunday lunch around, located in a beautiful village which we have the privilege of living in. Grill night on a Thursday is fantastic too.
Second visit in a couple of months. 10 of us went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The service was pretty quick for the size of the group and we were all really pleased, between us we had most of the menu and everything was fantastic - especially the vegetables. The kids portions were a good size and everything was fairly priced. We had delicious desserts too. Definitely be back.
