I went there with great hopes. After waiting for a while we asked if it was a table or bar service. We were then brought the menus . The main part of the meal arrived, after a while the vegetables arrived. The swede, Monge toe and beans were nearly raw. You could not put a fork into the swede. I know what el Dante is the vegetables had been blanched at the best. The roasted vegetables were hard. No attention was given to my guest after the meal was served. The presentation was good but the finish was poor. No one came to check if the meal was OK or if anyone would like a desert. So we could not speak to the staff about the meals. It was not a pleasant experience, I dragged my guest for 3/4 of an hour over Derbyshire for this lacklustre experience . They were not even interested when we were paying the bill. I have no idea why we got such bad service. Apparently they do not care.

No skimping on portion size, all serve within a reasonable amount of time, good quality, would have preferred the pie as an individual rather than a slice and puff pastry but still nothing to complain about.

Lovely pub, nice, cosy and warm in the lounge area. The food was great. We had ribs which never disappoint and steak and ale pie. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Went Saturday the 25th November. A little hard to find(sat nav took us on a detour) some narrow roads, but well worth the trek. Place looks lovely with the Xmas decorations up,very tastefully done to. It was busy but unlike some restaurants you're not sat to close to other tables. Music on but nicely in the background and ambient noise not to bad.Been some places recently where you can't here each other talk. I had fish and chips with mushy peas and the wife had the filler of beef hanging skewer(think yakatori stick if you've been to one of those restaurants). My fish was awesome and the peas were really tasty, home made chips, really nice. The wife's was amazing and made me regret my choice, huge chunks of steak, cooked beautifully with onion, coleslaw and fries. She allowed me a sample,it was amazing, definitely be going back for one of these. Then puddings,I had the apple and berry pie with custard(choice of custard or ice cream) and the good lady had sticky toffee pudding with custard,it has chunks of fudge on top. Both were really nice and a good serving too. So a really nice place, lovely food and friendly staff,a little hidden away but well worth a visit, will be returning for that hanging beef. P.s it's dog friendly too.

We were recommended by a friend and we weren’t disappointed… what a lovely place, We had 2 people in our party who had allergies and they were so accommodating. It was very busy at first so took a while to get seated, we were in the conservatory and it was a little chilly, but the seating and decor was great. The cleanliness was very good. The food was delicious when it came, my only criticism was the time we waited. Xx I would definitely recommend 🤩
