Enjoyed both food and drinks here. Staff very friendly even when we requested an ice bucket full of hot water as the red was a bit cold for our taste. Food was good quality, quantity and good price with a decent selection. Best of all were the views. Has to get the best view from a loo award.
Had lunch here. Lovely building, spotless and beautifully decorated with amazing views, shame it was freezing cold and drafty. Friendly staff. Food was just average. Whipped feta did not come with any ras el hanout and the salad was not dressed. Scampi and chips was ok but the chips were dry and strangely powdery and fell apart like they were old. I had to season the dish quite a lot as it was rather bland. Dressed side salad was quite nice. Rattler was delightful :)
The family and I went to The Fort Inn for a dual birthday dinner. We went at about 4pm. It wasn't too busy. The service was excellent. The food was lovely, and the views were outstanding. We had Hunter's Chicken, Katsu Burger, Scampi, and Fish and Chips. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.
Food was excellent, huge portions, tasty and served in good time We visit the Fort every year and it's definitely improved from previous years. I still think the bar layout could be better, always queues of people not knowing who is next to be served, you don't queue long as the staff are efficient but I think it wouldn't be difficult to have a better set up. We will be visiting again during our stay in Newquay, the lasagne was delicious and more importantly they have a great selection of beers.
A must visit if you’re looking for somewhere with great food and amazing views when visiting Newquay. It’s very popular, so gets busy and there can be a wait at the bar, but that’s to be expected. They do allow you to reserve tables in advance, but we took a chance and found a table outside right overlooking the harbour and beach. During our visit their fire alarm went off, just after our food had arrived. We weren’t allowed to take our food with us and, as you can imagine, we returned to absolute carnage caused by the seagulls and not one scrap of food left on our plates. The staff replaced all of this for this though and we went on to order dessert and more drinks.
