If you haven't been to sample their Indian Takeaway or mico brewed IPA you are missing an absolute treat.
Lovely beer. Good Indian food. Great landlady. Awful landlord. His 'elbow toss' response in these reviews, says it all. He wants 'his kind of customers.' Anyone else can go to hell. Hospitality doesn't work like that. A cross between Basil Fawlty, Tommy Saxondale and Reinhard Heydrich. It may impress the locals (Forest of Dean crowd) but gave the place a feel of The Slaughtered Lamb. Shame. I'd have happily targeted this place for a proper session. Not now. I'm guessing I ain't alone.
left canoes at the river and walked up in torrential 2023 summer rain. The pub was a great stop and the onside brewed beer was great. Really liked the outdoor sheltered tables so we could stay in our wet gear and get out of the rain whilst enjoying the beer.. Great place hope it continues so I can visit again on a better day
Ingenious sheltered picnic benches, perfectly placed to catch the early evening sunshine. Excellent beer and tasty Indian food to eat outside or take home.
Very good home brewed beer, always friendly when we've turned up. Plan to frequent more often, been told the Indian out back is also good, but not tried that yet.
