Popped in for a pint and some chips while I waited for some friends on a cold Sunday evening. Staff were super friendly and service was excellent. Great selection of beers on offer including cask ale at very reasonably prices - all around the £5 mark. The chips were top notch. Ambiance was excellent. Will be back for a proper meal some time!
This was on its way to being a five star review: lovely cosy pub, good location, clean, efficient and friendly staff, really good food at reasonable prices. Then our Bailey's and Irish coffees arrived and were luke warm so we asked our server to please great them up, which he was happy to do. They were returned to us by a chap who may possibly have been watching a box set of Gordon Ramsay that afternoon, who seemed peculiarly incensed that we'd asked for hot liqueur coffees. He plonked the now beige coffees on the table, blaming the fact that he had "50 people behind the bar" (there was a Christmas party of 26 people in the function room) as the reason the coffees hadn't been hot, and repeatedly said "do you want me to make new ones" in a tone that said he clearly didn't want to, and neither did we want him to. It was rather surreal to be honest: we'd spent a reasonable amount of money on food and drinks, been unassuming and peaceful in our corner, yet were being loudly lambasted in front of several other customers for the temerity of politely asking for our coffees to be served hot. It was embarrassing, uncalled for and thoroughly unprofessional. A short while later, our afternoon having been ruined, we were getting ready to leave and my friend asked the bar staff who the gentleman was. He suddenly appeared and proffered a reluctant apology, which my friend accepted. What a shame.
We were given a very nice quiet room off the main eating area.It was smart ,cosy private ,and perfect for our small wake. My relatives should really have ordered me some food ,but they did pay for drinks. (I paid the huge funeral bill)so I was in a daze! The inn staff were very helpful ,kind and respectful .My daughter had promised me a meal at Foresters .I guess she was in as much a daze too for her loss She will do so next visit A very big thank you to Redin the owner and all the staff for their kindness .
We made our second visit to The Foresters in the last year and again enjoyed a lovely time. The food was delicious and served in good time. The waitress who served us the last time too was, again, very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is always good too. It has a welcoming feel and is well worth visiting. Thank you.
Came down from Cleethorpes for a couple of nights away with wife. Staff and owners are lovely and gave a warm welcome. Helpful at all times and good for a chat. Steaks were beautiful. Wish we could have tried more of the food 😉 We thought that not having to walk through the pub to get to the room was a bonus as we felt it gave us our own space a bit more. Great ambiance in the pub. Would definitely recommend 👌
