About us

The Falcon is situated in the beautiful little village of Rotherwick, surrounded by countryside and only a stones throw from Junction 5 on the M3.

Superb surroundings, friendly faces and a relaxed environment make the Falcon the perfect place to unwind and enjoy quality food and drink.

In our comfortable bar and dining area we offer a range of draught lagers and cask ales together with an excellent selection of wines, soft drinks and tea and coffees. Why not come along and enjoy a bite to eat? Our food is cooked to order from fresh seasonal produce.

For the warmer months we have a dining patio and lovely beer gardens where you can eat and drink ‘al fresco’ with friends, family or business colleagues.

Good sized car park at the back. Plenty of room inside. Good staff and service. The sharing platter is generous and the carrot cake is amazing.

lovely little beer garden. Very pleasant staff and really nice food and cocktails. My only criticism is that I had ham egg and chips and would much rather have had freshly fried egg, than a deep fried boiled egg. a very nice spot to spend a summer adternoon. 👍

Country pub with tasty food & Friendly Staff. Not our first visit, but this time around had a very tasty Venison Lasagna, with chunky chips (for a bit of added carbohydrate..!!) Washes down with a nice Cornish Guest Ale. Also has lovely seating area in front of a real fire, good parking and certainly different gents toilet.

This pub is the most underrated pub I’ve been to. Eaten here three times now and the food has always been fantastic. The fish platter I had tonight was the best I’ve sampled in many pubs in the last few years, in Somerset, the Cotswolds and Cornwall. I’m not talking Michelin star, you can shove that, I’m talking good honest grub served by good honest people in a setting that is the perfect blend of traditional and contemporary. They have an excellent selection of beverages, something for everyone, including an inspired selection of wines that is not extensive but is perfectly balanced and offers something different to the normal bland choices. People of Basingstoke.....do yourselves a favour get a taxi and pay a visit to this little gem on your doorstep..

Well-presented and thoughtful small menu which comprises a typical ‘pub grub’ selection (ham, egg & chips, fish & chips, burger) but with gastro twist. Quick service and lovely bar staff. Good selection of gin drinks and wines, ales etc. Dog friendly too!
