Had an absolutely delicious meal here and service was excellent. Recommend the lamb shank and fish pie. Very cosy and warm 😊 Dog friendly too 🐶
Great wee hotel with fantastic food and basic but comfortable rooms. Stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant on a Sunday evening. The food was top notch with service to match. The rooms are about what you would expect from an independent hotel, basic but comfortable enough.
Fantastic place to eat. This was our second visit and we will definately be back. Food was delicious, service was excellent and great value for money too.
We have just celebrated our Golden Wedding meal with the family at the Elphinstone. Our large table was well appointed and carefully set. The serving staff coped admirably with the 11 adults and 2 children and all our varying requirements, including a peanut allergy. They could not have been more helpful. The menu offered a wide variety of choices at reasonable prices. The food was excellent. Well done Elphinstone for making our Golden Celebration very special.
Visited with Dutch friends for lunch. As weather nice we sat outside in the Beer Garden (which is actually upstairs once you get out). Food and drinks are ordered at the bar downstairs, and the food is brought to your table when ready. No complaints about the food - it was typical ‘pub fayre ‘ but was nice enough. We only had contact with 2 members of staff - unfortunately a very mixed experience - one being very positive, and the other very negative.
