About us

Currently trading as a free house using local produce where possible and of course the handcrafted beers from the brewery next door. It is listed in several guide books. Formally a winner of CAMRA South East Sussex pub of the year. Free Wi-Fi is available (Kings Head) Food Cooking is a passion with all concerned bringing together some interesting ideas, with best quality at a reasonable price the objective. We use fresh ingredients and make our own pastry and sauces. There is a lunchtime menu available early afternoon and a dinner menu in the evening (see menus). These are supplemented with a specials board showing an ever changing list of daily delights such as homemade short crust pies, local fish dishes and other homemade delights. There is always a choice of two roast dinners on Sunday with a host of fresh vegetables reasonably priced at £8.50. The dessert board also changes with the season–all being made and baked in-house at £4.90 each. Drinks Local handcrafted ales start at £3.00 per pint with a choice of lagers, Guinness, Old English Cider and a good variety of soft drinks. Importantly we make fresh bean to cup ground coffee. Private Parties We have two private rooms and look to accommodate up to 20 or 50 persons seated for meals. These can interlink for a larger number people and a buffet. Please contact us with your requirements so we can oblige you with a quote. Outside There is seating to the front from April to October and the listed garden is open during the same period to the rear. There is some parking to the front and plenty of unrestricted road parking in London or Waldron Roads.

A gem in a wonderful village. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and no nonsense grub! Special shout out to Owen, what a friendly and welcoming barman.

I was staying at the seemingly expensive East Sussex National along the road. Myself and wife decided to book for a Sunday lunch: we both had the roast lamb which came with all the trimmings. It was excellent! Dessert was by way of sticky toffee pudding and salted caramel & honeycomb ice-cream - which was equally as lovely. When you come in it seems to have a real country/village pub atmosphere and the bar staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. Great food, great selection of ales/beers and ciders, great staff.

Perfect pub, Perfect atmosphere. Helped us out with a family meal before I flew back home to America, I can't thank you enough for helping my sister's and I have this time together. It had been 7.5 years since I was with them and you made that last night before I flew home, Perfect.

A lovely, no frills pub with a good selection of cask ale. The Sunday roast was absolutely excellent value for money. Friendly and accommodating landlord. Dog friendly.
