All in all a very disappointing experience. Upon walking into our room I had a look around, walked in to the bathroom and was greeted by a ceiling full of black mould. There was no way this was safe. We went down to reception to complain and request a change in rooms. Before we could fully explain, there was a new key thrust in front of us. No apology, no explanation, which made me think they knew about it in the first place. We went to the new room and low and behold more mould on the ceiling. This time not as bad but still bad enough. Rather than deal with the quite frankly rude front of house, I climbed up on to the bath and cleaned the ceiling myself. The radiator valve was missing so there was no way of turning the radiator down. Great if you're a cold blooded person but if you want a comfortable nights sleep without sweating, you're out of luck. If you're visiting and offered room 217 or 228 hand the keys straight back. One thing I noticed were small red dots on each of these rooms doors. Maybe a coincidence or have they been marked for upgrades or unusable? I noticed a couple of other rooms had these dots. Great location though and well positioned for walks and local eateries. That's about all the positives I can muster

We stayed in a beautiful suite with a loch view. Room could do with updating but nice enough. Nice menu, although we were not aware of restaurant on arrival, so ate in bar, which was OK but would have preferred restaurant as there was sports on the tv. Breakfast was fab, really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the world.

Had a weekend here after buying a 5pm deal. Sadly the photos of the Hotel are not actually the reality, it is very run down, tatty, not the cleanest, and in much need of some redecoration. They put us in a terrible room, we went straight back down and upgraded by paying £15 extra a night, the staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the new room was marginally better but still not very nice, the bed sheets were clean at least. The room was freezing theres no central heating, we battled with an old electric wall mounted heater which hardly heated the room and ended up sleeping with extra clothes. The food was nice and all the staff are very lovely and obviously trying to give the very best service despite the Hotel not being in a good state of repair. I certainly wouldn’t go back or recommend it.

Wonderful overnight stay. Breakfast was hot and plenty of it. Restaurant manager was so friendly and polite. Really nice gentleman. Lovely room, and spotless. Will definitely stay here again 🌞

I hate to be negative but this hotel is in dire need of some TLC, and a few negatives really brought down the quality of our stay. As another reviewer mentioned you are really paying for the view, and as you can see from my first picture ours was awful. There was lots of rubbish and from the smell of smoke that came in the window I think we were right above the staff break area. Aside from the poor view, we were also not given any toilet paper in our bathroom (had to ask for some), not given enough coffee for two people (one normal, the rest all decaf), the shower didn't work at all in our room so we only had access to the bath and the whole room felt really sad, I've included pictures of the stained walls, really grotty looking phone and partly broken curtains. I hope they don't let this room out again until they've at least fixed the shower. The other main negative is that the walls are really thin, you can hear a lot but there is no warning about this anywhere. I'd assume in an old building walls would be thick. On our first night we got back at 10pm and got ready for bed, chatting to each other at a normal volume, and by 10.30pm by which time we were in bed and trying to sleep, the staff came up to tell us of a noise complaint. They knocked on the door five or six times, as we scrambled to get out of bed and get clothes on to answer it, causing our dog who hadnt let out a peep to bark at the knocking at the door, ultimately making far more noise than we had chatting while getting ready for bed! My constructive feedback for the hotel would be to put up a little poster warning people to talk in hushed voices after 10pm lest they get told off, and probably just use the phone to let them know if there is a complaint unless it's a serious ongoing issue! In terms of positives, the location is fantastic with great little pubs and restaurants near by with great views of the loch, and easy access to some good walks up to the cobbler. It's also very dog friendly, we saw lots of happy dogs on our stay which was great. The staff behind the desk were lovely too.
