If you arrive in Ayr by train, Drouthy Neebors is likely to be the first bar you see - and as you'll be given such a warm welcome, you probably won't want to look any further. Taking the inspiration for its name from the line in the immortal Burns Poem Tam O'Shanter, Drouthy Neebors is certainly the ideal spot for honest men and bonnie lassies to meet! Popular with a genial crowd, it attracts a lively mixture of regulars, music lovers and tourists en route to Ayr Holiday Park who have learnt it's a place you can't sit on your own in for long without someone striking up a conversation. Essentially one high-ceilinged room, it has a couple of cosy booths (one with its own fireplace) and a great traditional atmosphere, making it the perfect place to enjoy a Belhaven Best in good company.
Only in to see escapade the band ,place was too warm ,no fans or air conditioning. Bar staff weren't the friendliest. Prices quite expensive .have been in before during covid and same again ,if your not a regular you don't feel welcome .
Didn't get a chance to eat but an absolutely lovely bar with fab staff. Thoroughly recommend
