Stopped in for a birthday treat. Very welcoming staff. Ordered the Bakewell cake ( of course) and a latte. The cake was amazing, so moist and delicious and the coffee was great. Also dog friendly which is lovely. She got a gravy bone.

Out of stock Fish and halloumi we were informed about. But our mains were also missing items like sour cream and Nachos with the chilli. My chicken and chorizo sandwich was small and the chorizo was cut too thick and served raw. The burger looked good but some chips were undercooked. In General poor food for the price but has the potential to be very average. The area we were sat in was cold and the toilets are dated. But on the plus side, they do allow dogs. If we are in the area again , we won't return

So disappointing & inedible poorly cooked, sub standard quality ingredients, painfully slow service, cold food. The one Star we gave was for the decor as it was lovely however, the food was really disappointing & it was inedible. It was a quiet-ish mid week morning - We ordered a full breakfast pancakes with maple syrup. a bacon & sausage sarni Despite it being a quiet morning, it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The bacon that came with the pancakes & in the sarni was rock hard bone dry. It crunched more than. your average piece of crackling. I love crispy bacon - but this was awful, rock hard as if it had been in an oven all morning. They forgot to bring the syrup & we had to wait another 10 mins for that. The full English was only half full! 1 sausage, & not a particularly nice one at that, 1/2 a slice of dry bacon... it was the most measly full English that I've ever seen! The only nice thing was the bread, but the sausages & bacon in the sandwich weren't very nice at all & the bread was way too thick. Definitely not worth the money.

Stopped in here a couple of times at the weekend. One for lunch and another for breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was great. Highlights being the Mac n Cheese and the full English breakfast. The only thing that was a tad disappointing was their black pudding which we had in the stack and also part of the breakfast. It was pretty bland tasting and didn't have great texture. A shame as the black pudding stack was a great dish that I'd not seen on a menu before. Overall though it's a great pub that I would recommend if visiting Bakewell.

Came here with a whole group of friends after we did a Dark Peak race as a celebration! We also came to this same pub for lunch. Good: - Larger portion sizes here! Even the 8-pound sandwich was huge and made it super worth the price! I liked the tomato mozzarella sandwich the most. - The servers were really nice - solid apple cider too - Lots of seating so you can get a fairly large group together. Bad: - Took a while for our food to get there each time. - The food was okay, it wasn't the best I've had or the worst, it just wasn't superb - my fish pie for example just tasted like a large piece of mashed potato. Overall this was a really calming place, a relaxed environment, and a good place to catchup since it's not really loud. It also has good wifi and you can connect if you have the wifi password!
