This is an affordable well-located option for Falmouth. Chris is very welcoming and there is a great breakfast and pool table available for use as well as a pub garden. That said, some essentials are lacking: rooms aren't cleaned during your stay, mugs and towels aren't refreshed, toilet paper runs out and is not replaced. The staff while friendly enough are very young and inexperienced, so the service is very lackadaisical.

Had a short stay at the Mariners recently and everything was absolutely spot on. I made an initial telephone enquiry regarding my visit, Lisa was exceptionally helpful with with a wonderful telephone manner. In person she's just as professional, helpful and friendly. I arrived early but was allowed to check in early. As a solo traveler I'd booked a single room but had already been bumped up to an excellent double room with harbour views (see attached pic). Thank you guys. The room was clean, spacious and modern. Couldn't ask for more. But the breakfast........wow! Top quality ingredients cooked and presented to perfection. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, sausage , mushrooms, beans, black pudding, sausage slice, tomato (properly cooked), cheese stuffed hash brown and thick wholemeal toast. Didn't need anything else all day (see pic) And, if you're lucky, limited but free parking right outside the hotel 2 minutes walk to the harbour, 3 minutes walk to the town centre. All round it's absolutely ideal.

Took 50 mins to get our food with no apology or explanation from the staff until we asked why it was taking so long; only one chef working, well it would have been nice to have this info when we ordered. Sunday lunch, their Gluten Free roast just meant there was no Yorkshire pudding or Cauliflower cheese with no offer of anything to replace the missing veg (why not offer just plain Cauliflower?). The beef was good but 3 tiny spuds and 2 of the smallest roast carrots and parsnips meant we left still hungry.

Falmouth Week visit. Did the Maritime Museum then went for lunch at The Mariners just a short walk from the museum. We were greeted with a smile and attended to by an extremely polite and engaging young bar man/waiter. As we waited for our order to arrive we observed an earlier group receive their meals. Amazed by their selection we waited with great expectation for ours to arrive and boy we were not disappointed. Each meal was delicious and more than decent size. I am a vegetarian and had enough options to choose from deciding on pastie and chips from their 2 meals for £14. I thoroughly enjoyed my pastie which was very well made and not the run of the meal processed soft cheese variety. Everyone, four adults and one child agreed that we had eaten well, it was great quality and the staff had been polite and engaging.

This pub / B&B has a fantastic location with (budget) rooms that offer wonderful value for money and a team that works very, very hard to make sure you have everything you need. The room that we stayed in was budget/basic but absolutely adequate. The pub closes by 1030pm so there's no noise to keep you awake. The included breakfast was delicious and much more than expected. But the standout feature here is the immensely hard working team. All super attentive, friendly and helpful. ... and it's dog friendly! Strongly recommend!!
