About us

It takes its name from the Gaelic for 'black rock' and there's something rock-like about this much-loved Paisley local. It's been serving a broad spectrum of the community since the early years of the 20th century - and there are regulars here who've been popping in for as long as 50 years. Unsurprisingly, it's a friendly place, with a great drink range where the bar staff are pouring many customers' drinks as soon as they step through the door. Particularly popular for its food, a favourite with sports fans and especially lively at weekends, The Craig Dhu is a welcoming place to enjoy a Belhaven Best in good company.

This is a Green King chain pub, it’s very clean - truth be told it’s spotless. It’s warm even on a freezing day. The staff are nice and friendly and an asset to this pub. It’s quiet but there’s 4 customers in who are absolute bellends but the young staff are handling them very well - honestly should be a training video. One member of their party has apparently never spoken when his mouth ISN’T full of food. The Lassie holds it together like the pro she is, even as a slack jawed yokel of a customer talks to her with a mouthful of food. On to the Guinness - £4.65 a pint compared to the The Wellington at £3.80 and literally a 2 minute walk away mean I’m never coming back here for a Guinness. That being said the Guinness is excellent, excellent “domage” with a smooth silky taste and enviable head retention. It’s expensive but it is a lovely pint. If I was out in Paisley for some pub grub I’d come here over Gabriel’s.

Had the steak pie and chips it was lovely! The meat was tender and the pastry was nice, the broccoli complimented the meal well. I shared midori sour with my partner and it was nice as well, if you are a fan of sweet cocktails! The service was great and it was a nice visit overall.

Staff are absolutely lovely and were so helpful to us when we brought our dates-n-mates guys for some grub. Food was lovely too! Can't wait to come back.

We booked out the mezzanine area for a family dinner and we cannot fault our visit. There were 20 of us and from start to finish we all had a ball. The food was delicious and service was speedy and nothing was too much trouble. My sons said the burgers were the best they've had. We will be making our family gatherings here a regular event. Special thank you to the girl behind the bar with the brown hair, a credit to the Craig Dhu.

Amazing food, great prices and staff couldn't be any better!! We got the speciality hunters chicken and speciality fish n chips as well as sides/starters, highly recommend! We'll definitely be back, forgot to get the two ladies names but they were lovely and made us feel really comfortable, thank you!
