Food was great. I came on a Monday afternoon at 12pm for carvery. I brought to young lads that I am a support worker for who have autism. They are both non verbal but love interacting with people. Danielle C was great from start to finish. From ordering to bringing out food out she didn’t waste no time in serving us promptly and with a lovely smile. As for the lads waiting is a difficult task sometimes ! Danielle also was great when interacting with lads and greeted them with a smile. Customer service skills stretched further than just serving our food. Nothing was too much and Danielle c was more than happy to spend a couple of minutes chatting with us. She definitely made the afternoon more enjoyable for all of us !
Went here for a vegetarian full English breakfast. I ordered from the menu which only had a non vegetarian option and I asked them to swap out the meat for veggie sausages and hold the bacon which they kindly accommodated. However I’m pretty sure there was a small piece of meat on my plate. I had to leave it to a side and ate around it. The food itself is your standard cafe breakfast. Generous portions and good prices. Atmosphere wasn’t really great. I can’t say if it’s always like that as it was a wet and windy Saturday morning and could have just been a quiet time.
Would not recommend if you have a vegan in your group. After much back and forth it turned out there was no vegan carvery option, no vegan gravy, only a Beyond burger which arrived without vegan cheese a good half hour after everyone else had finished eating. Pretty sad excuse for a meal - see photo (BBQ sauce was our addition) The non-vegan meals were average. Cutlery wasn't provided on the table and when we did manage to locate some it was filthy. The restaurant in general wasn't particularly clean, especially the carpets. One member of staff (a young woman with blonde hair) seemed to be doing her best to keep things going, clearing tables etc, which was appreciated. One to avoid, unless you have low expectations.
Pretty shockingly bad. Emailed in advance to change some of the party to a vegan menu. Was assured this was fine...wasn't fine in the end. They denied getting the email. No vegan cheese and we ended up feeling like an inconvenience for requesting vegan options. Took 2.5 hours to serve 3 courses while a few staff stood around chatting behind the bar. ...If you've not got vegan options or they're difficult, don't offer them on the menu 🤷♂️ Picture below was the festive Beyond burger. I really enjoyed the 3 pieces of red onion.
Really enjoyed our carvery - all meat and vegetables were fresh and hot. Turkey and beef were super tender. The carvery server was really friendly and there were plenty of family dining seats and highchairs available. I would say that the atmosphere in the family area is really dim lit and quite cold though.
