We visited at lunchtime between Christmas and New Year. Although it was busy, we were seated quickly. We struggled to choose between food items, as the menu looked really good. In the end we all opted for Fish & Chips with minted peas. The food portion was perfect and the food was really tasty. The staff did check backs and were very pleasant. The food that was being served to others also looked great. We will definitely return.

Lovely lively pub, delicious coffee and we stopped for a quick break in the area. Obviously not quick enough because member of staff came by the table not just once but twice to check if we'd finished yet. Took one empty cup away and returned very shortly after to check once again if my cup was available for removal from the table. Shame because I couldn't fault it otherwise but sadly it took away from the overall experience.

Stopped on the way up to the Lakes from Somerset. Beautiful location, friendly staff, great food at sensible prices.

Easily the best pub roast dinner we have had for a long time! Service was friendly and attentive, food was DELICIOUS and very reasonably priced compared to some other local pubs of a similar vibe. Would particularly recommend the cauliflower cheese with the roast, and the banoffee mess for dessert was delightful. The atmosphere was super cosy. We had a really lovely evening, thank you!

Stopped over at this gorgeous pub on the way from Lake District to Manchester. Had an amazing Sunday roast with a warm fire and great staff! This 300 year old pub definitely has the most welcoming vibe.
