A nice historic building. There's obviously been modification over the years. I haven't been for food or one of their music nights so I have no opinion on that but it's a nice local drinking hole.
Good pub with good beer, friendly locals and nice staff. I was here for a recent Bolton Wanderers game, only about 20minute walk from the stadium
A 20-minute walk from the Kassam Stadium along a dual carriageway. Nice exterior. The interior is a bit disappointing after obvious modernisation, although a real fire and an old settle seat are a nice touch. Two real ales on offer, nothing exciting, Doombar and London Pride. Friendly pub and not too busy before the match. A quick pint of average London Pride at £4.50 a pint.
An indifferent welcome - no trad' beers on display but in the words of the staff "we have a IBC or something"....I asked what it was and they didn't know, I then asked for a taste and it wasn't available.... settled with a pint of Stella, which was good but didn't stop for another. I wouldn't return here and therefore I can not recommended this pub.
Very friendly pub that we use prior to the Oxford United games. No airs and graces, just good staff, good beers and good atmosphere. Would have got 5 stars if they sold better cider, Aspall's or Thatchers but you can't have everything.
