The Captain Howey Hotel has a large, bright and comfortable bar area where you can lay back and relax in one of the large leather sofas, sit around one of the tables placed in the lower, quieter area or at the bar on one of the high stools.
There is a large screen television showing either sport, or one of the many music channels available on Sky television. Due to the large area available it is a great venue for birthday parties, weddings, or any special occasion you feel that you would like to celebrate. A great assortment of catering packages is also available on request. Meetings can also be catered for, with refreshments if required.
Whether you are staying on your own in the Hotel or with family and friends, you will always find someone to talk to in our friendly bar. The staff and customers are always ready to welcome someone new, and chat about the sport, the area or the weather!
Bar snacks are available throughout the day and a wide choice of beers, wines and spirits to choose from.
For everyone’s entertainment, we often have live music in the bar on a Saturday evening, with local bands playing anything from the Beetles to Oasis, so why not spend part of your evening listening to the best music the area has to offer.

Haven't experienced the hotel side of The Captain Howey, but the food is great, comes out piping hot and very tasty. Just love the miniature steak and kidney pie, portion control just right.The staff are happy, friendly, and very accommodating. Will definitely be returning.
We have meet wondervull persons. If we had a Problem, we directly get a good help. The English Breakfast by our wishes was very good an the coffee was perfekt. The waiter was a good acteur, we had many fun.
Just returned from a lovely weekend at this hotel. What a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and nothing to much trouble.Especially when I forgot my hairdryer. Food both well prepared and excellent presentation. Definitely be back
Had a wonderful stay here. Would definitely recommend and come back again. The room was clean and in a very good condition. I slept well and the breakfast next morning was amazing. I am a vegetarian, and they made me special breakfast. All the staff, especially John was very friendly.
Having now stayed at the Captain Howey Hotel restaurant and bar for over 5 weeks due to working in the local area. I must commend John and Chris and their amazing staff on a homely and enjoyable stay, I normally stay in travel lodges but this was a blessing in disguise being only less than a mile from my place of work which was nothing more than so easy. The hospitality is second to none nothing is to much trouble at all. The rooms are clean and tidy and to a high standard and the home cooked food is incredible. I have eaten well every night the mixed grill and Sunday roast carvery are excellent as is the salmon and minted lamb . The mixed grill has to be one of the best I have ever eaten. I also had a cooked breakfast at a time convenient to myself daily which was at 0700 hrs again this was no problem at all and as I mentioned before you will go a long way to beat this establishment.
