Just changed hands. All your favourite pub grub, good portion sizes and nicely cooked. No gastro food. Nice to have a pool table, darts and other games. Garden and children's play equipment outside is good for keeping them occupied. And dogs allowed like most country pubs.
Excellent Sunday lunch today. Our party of five each had a different meat. Chicken, beef and lamb. All cooked to perfection. One child’s portion. Very tasty and came to the table nice and hot. Will definitely be coming back.
Thought we’d give it a try as it was between our friends and our house. Booked and went on Friday night. It was extremely quiet which made us query why the service was slow. Usually I prefer a non rushed meal but it took ages to ask what drinks and then serve them. The meal took quite some time to serve and the catch of the day wasn’t great. The steaks and fish and chips were good, although they had ran out of Cognac & peppercorn sauce, so we had to share! How they would cope if they were busy? The waiter was try to up sell all evening and didn’t provide a relaxing atmosphere. Would I go back? Regretfully no. Shame given its location with the ever expanding housing estate.
Please support this newly refurbished pub, everything was good yet we were only customers in there on a wet Friday lunchtime. Hope the evenings are busier, they deserve to be. We had fish n chips and cheeseburger and fries, very nice.
Good food and friendly service. Not over crowded and very dog friendly. Lots of parking. Clean. Delicious camembert cheese.
