Have driven past this place 100 times and always wanted to go in there, but the opportunity never arose. Finally visited on Saturday 20/1 and I regret not coming sooner. Nice pub/restuarant. Good atmosphere, food was delicious. Only thing I would say is the food took a little while to come out but it was worth the wait.
Came to Woolpack for a family pre-christmas get-together, 21 in all, 14 adults and 7 children, and what a meal! We all thoroughly enjoyed the meals that we had chosen and had a fantastic couple of hours. The staff went above and beyond they were all so attentive. Brilliant afternoon 👌
We stopped here for dinner and had Sunday roast. We had to add an extra person at the last minute which was no problem, even on a busy Sunday afternoon. Lovely food and great staff, special thanks to Martyn who looked after us. Thanks again.
Lovely gastric pub, nicely decorated. Outdoor seating at the front and back. Lots of seats in the bar area, and also a smart-looking restaurant area. Food was also very good. They ran out of a couple of things, but I like that because you know it’s fresh!
Quite an upmarket establishment, you would feel underdressed in jeans and they have a sign out front asking you not to wear sportswear, vests and workwear. The kind of place you'd take your grandparents or parents out for their anniversary. The prices match the atmosphere, and while the food is pleasant they were out of the pork main so we had a couple starters instead, but I was not bowled over. The main that did arrive, fishcakes, was lovely but would not have been sufficient without a starter also. It is dog friendly from what I saw, although I would keep them outside and only if they were very well behaved. Staff are great and food arrived promptly, we went for an early lunch, 12:30, and were the first people in although several more groups arrived as we were eating, it clearly is quite popular even on a weekday. This building is partly wheelchair accessible, the bar area is quite crowded with different floor levels and little manoeuvrability as old buildings are, but the main dining area had enough space.
