The Britannia is an imposing grit-stone building. Marston’s acquired it in 1961 when they bought the Rothwell estate (who had in turn obtained it from Shaw & Bentley in 1902). The "Brit" is now in the hands of a PubCo and offers a range of six beers from the Marston portfolio that rivals many a free house. There’s a secluded dining area in the otherwise opened out interior.

Great place staff very friendly and efficient food first class good value for money and plenty of it. Entertainment every weekend altogether a great little pub very clean and lots on offer at a great price.xx

Our new favourite pub. We're not big drinkers and don't normally go to pubs on a regular basis but would go on occasion on baby free nights. We saw an ad for this place by chance on facebook for the quiz on sundays hosted by Elliott. It's a great electronic quiz and you get supper from Sunday's leftovers included in the price of the quiz which is £1. It's on Sundays from 7.30pm and usually finished by 9.30. The past few weeks we've have the leftover Ham from the roast dinner on sandwiches and Chilli con Carne with Rice. Drinks are also reasonably priced and the main menu food is delicious too, but make aure to order before the kitchen closes at 6.45 if you need to eat before the quiz starts.
Great local pub with outside seating, very friendly and welcoming vibe. They've got Lemon, Orange and Peach flavoured Gordon's Gin, which I love!❤️
