You wait a long time for average food . No atmosphere . Service and management very poor . So many pubs in the area which offer a far superior menu It's quiet because people are starting to realise this . I've tried it a few times just thinking I was unlucky but it's definitely going downhill and I know other people think the same .

The people at the Hop & Vine are lovely, they make wonderful pizzas, plus loads of other options. Great specials, great wine selection, a brilliant range of cocktails (including the classics), beers on tap, great coffee. All in a wonderful location at the heart of Fiveways. As an example, our party of 6 had... Garlic bread, olives, whitebait, four cheese pizza, American hot pizza, chicken Caesar salad, half chicken and fries, burger and chips, brownies, salted caramel ice cream, cappuccino creme brulé, red wine, white wine, beer, cosmopolitan, margarita, mojito, orange brulé, espresso martini, cucumber and mint martini, and decaf tea!

I love the Hop & Vine. We go here for lunch at least once a week and quite often for after work drinks on a Friday. The food is excellent with a really good range of choices for pescatarian/vegetarians. The fishfinger sandwich with skinny fries is a particular favourite. They serve Curious Brew and IPA along with guest ales and a great selection of gins and tonics. Sean, the manager, and all his staff are very friendly.

I am very much a meat person. I decided to have a pizza with anchovies olive, garlic and capers. Totally enjoyed this. The atmosphere is great and staff are welcoming. Would definitely recommend the hop and vine

Started off fine. Ordered a florentino pizza as a kind of healthier option. Very poor. Overloaded with a cheap mozzarella, little or no tomato flavour, cheap black olives, exactly four and a half tiny strands of spinach, topped with a precooked hard boiled egg, all slightly undercooked and with no real crispness. Halfway through two women appeared with a couple of smelly lap dogs, and when i objected they began to try and engage not just me but half the restaurant in a shouted heated and irrational argument, finally claiming that dogs were in fact cleaner than humans. By this time any appetite one might have had had vanished together with the ability to be calm enough to think of an appropriate comment such as 'when was the last time you licked your backside'. The management allows dogs apparently on the premise that it's a local restaurant with repeat custom, so the needs of a walk in customer appear to be less important to them. The final straw was the waiter fondling one of the dogs with whom he was clearly acquainted. Shame. The waitress was warm and welcoming with a sense of humour. The rest of it was just a pretentious attempt at providing a local clientele with hospitality commensurate with their own expectations and hygiene standards. Left without paying.
