Fabulous, friendly micropub with proper customers, proper beer, and proper staff.
Lovely selection of cask beers. Good atmosphere and a good location. In the 2023 Good Beer Guide.
Popped in for a very quick pint. Excellent experience and I will be back. Think I've left a review before so won't go on (Google do like to me badger me for reviews).
This is more like a family party atmosphere where everyone joins in and white themselves whilst the landlady pops into the other room to bring the drinks and snacks. We were welcomed freedom the moment we arrived until we left. The dark ale was chilled and enjoyed. A great end to the evening.
Brilliant place if you like beer and people. Superb micropub just up the hill from the front. Named to commemorate the Dam Busters' bouncing bomb designed by the remarkable Barnes Wallis that was tested in the Thames Estuary nearby.
