Older than Canada 🇨🇦 1604 they have actually preserve some of the natural wall from the original building. It’s really quite something to see.🥰

A boozer that I quite like, and it’s nice to see that they finally accept card! I first came here back in 2018 due to its close proximity to the abandoned football ground, Dark Lane, which was where the irrevocably dissolved Rossendale United F.C. used to hold their home matches, and I ended up staying here because I liked it so much — even when it was cash only back then, and I had to walk up, and down a hill just to withdraw enough cash haha. I still come back here every so often despite Dark Lane since having been built over with housing, and as aforementioned it’s great now that they accept card. A lovely little place, really. I’ll be back

Friendly owners and customers. 2 real ales and plenty of other lagers/cider. Different food nights, Italian this Thursday and regular steak nights. Tempting..

This is a local and traditional pub that is a welcome asset to the community. They stock a wide range of real ales that change regularly and are reasonably priced. The friendly staff provide a quick and efficient service with a smile. A pool table is available as well as a surprisingly large range of gins. It's good to see that this pub is still thriving when many others have fallen by the wayside.
