The Boars Head is opposite Leigh Parish Church

An old but handsome red brick building with a large back yard where outdoor heavy rock bands play during the summer (no doubt to the annoyance of the local residents who not so long ago complained about the church bells being too loud) I think that the lesson to be learned here is that if you don't like noise don't buy a house near a pub and if you don't like church bells ringing don't buy a house near a church! The Boars Head for me has always been too big inside with rooms too large and generally not enough customers to create a really good atmosphere but the beer is good and reasonably priced and the bar staff are pleasant and efficient so its well worth a visit
