Not been for over a year and won't be going again. Only had cavery on and was told when that ran out would be able to choose from normal menu. Why couldn't we have this choice to start with. We left within 15 minutes and left our drinks. Don't blame the staff they looked very deflated management at fault for making sure not enough staff to cover especially another chef for cooking
Had an unscheduled stop here after a road was temporarily closed due to accident. Food was reasonable and beer was good. Not the cheapest but definitely not overly dear. A decent pub.
Me and my family came here expecting a nice lunch and a bit of play time for the children at the playground here. We ordered food, and then the children went out to play. My son (5 yrs) came to me and complained the playground was full of food and packaging and said, "It was drity." I went to check this out and saw 3 other children that eventually figured out that they belonged to some staff member, who abused the playground eating away opcorn and sandwiches and left uneaten food and packets all over the slide and floor. Random items of clothing scattered about, absolute disgraceful atmosphere and unhygienic. I confronted a staff member to make her aware of the issue, and to be fair she resolved this quite quickly. The other unfortunate and in issue was the food that came. Although it came timely we could tell it was rushed and no care was given. To my dismay and disappointment I had plastic wrapping in my burger (I presume from the cheese slice) and my daughters fresh veg sticks were looking out of date. We complained about this with no apology, the staff member just replied "oh, I'll let the chef know". Won't be going back here at all. The staff fmember who served us looked like she didn't want to be there, unwelcoming and poor. Really sorry, but honest review.
Service with a smile, very friendly and welcoming. Food came quick and tasted dead on, thought it was strange gravy with the cheese sauce but actually tasted really nice! Can’t fault for a walk in on Sunday evening
Called today pub wasn't busy, was no greeting on arrival, ordered some drinks before going to our seats, had to search out a kids menu, food took a while to come out which was fine as that was explained on ordering. starter was okay brie sharing platter not enough chutney though for 2 people, mains well where do I start kids meals were over cooked, the cod & chips was horrendous the fish was rubbery and hard, the lasagne was just your bog standard pub grub, puddings were okay nothing to write home about, kids sundae was literally 2 scoops of ice cream and sauce not as described. The service was dire no check backs on food, took ages for plates to be cleared, then puddings I had to find someone as we had waited well over 30 mins which then they had to ask us what we had actually ordered because they forgot. £54 (not including drinks) we told them about the fish been awful they grumbled sorry and that was it, won't return again as it's just not for us
