We had a chance to visit on a quiet Monday evening, not surprisingly as it was late January and everyone was skint. The service was absolutely spot on and we spent time reminiscing with the staff about visits over the years. Looking forward to returning for a meal after pay day
Genuinely the best roast we’ve all had in years. A little bit of a wait but it was Sunday, if you don’t want to wait, cook it yourself. Standout service from Victoria but the whole team were brilliant.
Made an impromptu stop for lunch on a dark, damp Saturday. Staff were immediately welcoming and informative. There was a warm community feel with a pleasant layout befitting an English Inn. Service was consistent with the food, excellent. Thanks.
Came here for my mums 78th birthday with 7 other family members! I pre booked rather than expect to be accommodated on last minute! We all thought the service was dreadful, had to order at the bar, so asked for a pen and paper as we couldn’t remember 8 different meals! Was given an order pad, so why the three members of staff stood around the bar couldn’t assist and offer to take our order, l do not know!!! Food took forever to come and came over 20 minutes so all were eating at different times! The three fish meals were last and the chips were cold, didn’t bother to complain as was starving! Had to clear our own plates onto another table as git tired of waiting for the staff to do it …. They weren’t exactly busy! Lady who served the coffee was lovely and accommodating!! Will we come again …… no!!! Food was ok so no issue with the chef but need to look at the staff service!! Spent nearly £130 so expected better service !!
Been coming here for many years. But a few weeks ago I came here and my food was a bit hit and miss. But today was definitely the last time I will visit here with this present management. Second price hike and the food portions and quality has gone to the 🐕s (excuse the pun). Cheese pie meal came with cold beans and a few chips. ((They would have heated my meal back up, but waited so long i couldn't be bothered)No cheese sauce anymore, unless you pay extra. What a shame that this place now serves you scraps for top dollar. Its usually full. But today very quiet. Not be long before this place will hit rock bottom. Shame really 😕. I am not a vindictive person and will always give a fair review. To be verbally slaughtered by locals and friends, will not make me take this post down. The landlady was very pleasant 😊 . But the food was not good. 😔.
