Located in an idyllic Devon valley, Bickley Mill is a wonderful place to stay, dine or celebrate in style. With elegant rooms, friendly staff and superb food in a beautifully restored 13th Century mill setting, it has a unique appeal among inns in Devon.
Whether treating someone to an excellent meal out, a romantic escape or mini break in Devon, we offer excellent hospitality and a cosy, tranquil setting. Indeed, sitting beside a log fire or watching the cool trickle of the mill stream, you might find it hard to believe we are just a short hop from Newton Abbot, Torquay, and many of Devon’s finest places to visit.
Very nice pub/restaurant recently done up tastefully done, only had a drink but the menu looked good so we'll go back another time to eat.
4th visit and felt the place needed a review. Staff are spot on here, really happy with that side. Food and rooms are great. Always come back here.
My better half and I recently stayed following a family wedding. The room was well appointed/decorated, clean and tidy etc. The drinks were a little pricy, but not over the top. The food was very nice, the service good, and the breakfast tasty and plentiful. If I was being picky I would suggest two possible areas of improvement, the shower was underwhelming. Some of the stairs and floorboards are squeaky/noisy, not an easy fix I appreciate, and probably more of a personal annoyance than an issue.
We had our wedding at the Bickley Mill and it was a beautiful location, staff were exceptional and food was outstanding! The venue is just stunning and bedrooms are of a high standard- very clean and comfortable… Everybody throughly enjoyed the day! Would highly recommend as a wedding venue, evening meal or over night stay….
One of the best fish and chips I’ve had in Devon. Though chips seem an easy thing to do - to get a proper fluff and flavourful ones is a trick. Chefs at Bickley nailed them! Service is lovely, restaurant quite and cosy plus two beautiful and quite outside terrace makes Bickley Mill perfect for intimate chats or “work from home” space.

This single bar pub has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and is very much a local. In the 19th-century, the pub is recorded as being a 'Beerhouse' owned by William Mortimore, who also owned the village's brewery and 9 other pubs.
