About us

WELCOME TO THE BICKFORD ARMS INN

A traditional Devon community pub & hotel that loves to welcome everyone!

Keith and John would like to welcome you to The Bickford Arms Inn at Brandis Corner, a tiny hamlet near Holsworthy. We thrive on a sense of community and host not only Bed and Breakfast guests, but a diverse range and mix of visitors from Private Functions & Parties to quick stopoffs for a tasty bite to eat or a cosy place to rest.

Combining the warmth and familiarity of your own living room with the luxury of good service and the best quality food, we are more than just somewhere to lay your head as part of your stay in fabulous North Devon.

We're very dog friendly and love welcoming your four legged best friends.

Denzel, our big soppy Great Dane is waiting to greet you.

We have a small forest area adjoining the car park where we keep our six Emus, fifteen pygmy goats and four sheep. They're all very friendly - just speak to John if you'd like to meet them!

If your stay with us coincides with a weekend why not take advantage of our famous Sunday Roast, where you can enjoy the delicious hearty food on offer at our traditional Sunday Carvery. With a choice of four succulent meats all sourced from local farms and our acclaimed Yorkshire Puds all washed down with a lovely Pint or a special glass of Wine, you may just feel the need to walk it off in our beautiful local countryside especially if you get tempted by one of our naughty desserts!

Stopped in for food, had the gammon and ham/turkey pie. The food was of high standard and very generous portions. The service was very welcoming and helpful, I would recommend the pub for stopping off for reasonably priced nice family style meal.

We stopped for food on a day trip to collect a car and I have to say the food was so good higher than our expectation and such a great place and staff. Going to spend more time there in summer on trips to seaside Bude etc. Great lodgings as well by the look of it You should try it if your down that way as it will surpass your expectations.

Excellent food. Donna our chef/waitress went over the top when it came to helpfulness and consideration, she worked like a trojan. Will definitely eat there again in the new year.

Stayed here for a week while working away, lovely atmosphere and John and Keith are class, can have a great laugh! Good beer, good food, good room, can't fault it at all, and looking forward to getting back there in a couple weeks!

Good food and good, friendly service. Went for the Sunday carvery. 4 meats to choose from on the day, my gammon and turkey were both really nice. Wife had the veggie option, which was beetroot and butternut squash wellington, which she reported as lovely. I haven't rated the rooms because I didn't stay. Unless you are lucky enough to live in the small hamlet that it's in, you would need to drive, so bear that in mind, but the car park is large enough. It even has EV charging if you need it.
