The Dukes Head offers a blend of traditional style and flair. Our charming pub sets excellent standards for comfort and convenience. Perfectly located in the town centre there is easy access to local attractions and business parks.
Our five en-suite rooms are spacious and competitively priced. They are fully equipped and suitable for business or leisure travellers. The restaurant serves good traditional pub food and is famous for our hog roast and barbecues over the spring and summer. We offer a wide slection of lunch items for both eat in and take away.
We have a car park and terraced garden and are happy to welcome families.
This strikes you as the kind of pub that used to be a big deal x decades ago, and has slowly died off. It's a very large building and mostly nobody is in there. I wouldn't want to pay the rent on it. Fine for a drink or three but where are the regulars? other than some darts-playing society once a month. I'd hate to see it disappear though.
Only had a couple of drinks. Was a Sunday night so quiet but the landlord was friendly and genuine.
Don't park here, they charge you 100 quid if you don't pay in ten minutes, or 70p an hour, just to send a parcel at the lockers, crazy place to park, drove onwards to macdonalds instead, macdoalds charge nothing for 90 minutes
Probably one of the worst places I've ever been. The general feel on it was sordid and not clean at all. The WC and shower installations seems to be a joke (maybe if you are not over 1 meter tall will be able to have a shower). I'll absolutely not recommend it even to my worst enemy. At least, people working there was gentle.
It's OK - give it a go! Decent beer, seems to be well kept. Great pub grub, reasonably priced, they'll make anything for you so long as they have the ingredients - just ask. Friendly landlord and regulars. And there's Eric, who is just so angry to be a pug dog, you just got to love him! Don't worry - he may grumble when he first sees you, but he's a softy really. It's a bit "kitchen table" in one end, but the bar and snug are much more comfortable.
