This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The pictures on the website are *very* selective, so don't use them as a guide. To begin with, we turned up at 2pm to check in (as per the website) and the staff member tried to charge us £15 for early check-in, saying that check-in wasn't until 3pm. The room was incredibly shabby and quite dusty, and looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 80s. The carpet and the curtains were relatively new, but the furniture and decoration needed updating. The management has been replying to reviews for a couple of years saying that they are renovating, but they clearly haven't reached room 12. The bed sagged in the middle, there was an electrical wire hanging down behind the radiator, a hole in some kind of electrical socket by the bed, the bathroom radiator was stuck on max (we eventually managed to adjust it on the second night, but it was difficult), the shower didn't work properly, we could hear every footstep from the room above and an ongoing whirring/industrial noise from outside that the windows aren't good enough to block, and the tiny TV was in a place that was almost impossible to see from the bed. When we went to check out, reception was in darkness and no-one replied to the bell. This had clearly happened to others because a couple of keys had been left on the desk. Interestingly, they had been left with a note listing some complaints similar to mine, so we did the same. I'm really disappointed and annoyed by the whole thing, and I don't think that it was anywhere near worth the £100 per night that we paid.
Room not clean at all. Facilities were outdated No ac or fan to cool down the room The worst tv i have ever seen in a hotel room. Never knew they still sold 14 inch tvs My wife and i on the double bed could not see the tv at all as were in the corner and blocked by a wall. Worst hotel experience of my life and even worse for the price. Shower was filthy, room was dusty and the carpet is the worst i have ever seen in a hotel room. £135 per night and £10 per person per breakfast is pretty expensive for the quality on offer. Avoid like the plague Staff where nice and location is great
The only good thing about this hotel was the location. The room was very expensive, paid extra for early check in but unfortunately the room was dirty. Toilet not cleaned, stains on bed, hairs on bed and the shower was full of mould. Had to sleep on top of the bed sheets from fear of catching something
Great location - but my stay has to be the worst ever. I feel like I have been tortured for two nights! My room was small, cramped and very dated. The curtains were tissue thin and my room right next to a very busy railway line. Why you would put anyone in this room is beyond me. And the cost without breakfast - unbelievably expensive.
Location was perfect for what we wanted. We were watching a concert nearby. Service was great from the lady that checked us in and served us at the bar. Room needs tlc, we needed a place to put our heads down for the night but expected better for the price. Also a very strange mural on the wall of a mythical looking man which was a bit alarming at night. No plug in the sink. Tiny telly, Hairdryer was unusable as looks like it had melted, no way to turn off the noisy extractor fan in the bathroom at night time. We could hear the bathroom next door so knew they could hear ours. Cobwebs in the room. The bedding was clean though. We didn't have breakfast so unable to comment on that.
