Great….Nothing. Poor….Food and service. I asked for a disabled table due to my elderly uncle and mother. We arrived at 1pm, only to be asked to sit elsewhere. It’s when I suggested that I booked a certain table they had to clear it. This took about 10 minutes and whilst waiting the waiter served the others instead of assisting with the cleaning / clearing of the table. First rule is to treat all customers with respect. No respect given that I respected disabled table and knowingly served others whilst we stood waiting. Our table was finally ready, no one came to serve us drinks. After 15 minutes we got up and got our food and I had to go and ask to be served some drinks. Some 5 minutes after a waitress came over and got our drinks. By the time our drinks were served all of us was at least 3/4 through our meal. The meal was bland, sloppy and Luke warm. Nothing to compare from previous visits. We all had desserts apart from one person. 5 sticky toffee puddings (half previous size from when last visited approx 2 months earlier) and the fudge sundae well, it was a mr whippy ice cream with a few toffee bits and very minimal chocolate sauce. No fudge cake in the bottom either. We had to go up and ask for the bill as like the rest of the service, no one came down to us during our visit to serve us. Like i said, poor food and even worse service. This was my uncle’s favourite eatery and used to visit weekly uncle becoming ill. He’s not wanting to rush back.
Popped into the Toby for lunch with my daughter. We didn't book, but we were offered a table in the bar area, which was fine. There was a good selection. We collected our roast. Everything tasted great. The only complaint was that the dinner was not very warm.
The meal was excellent. The waitress was fantastic. One of the people with me can't walk well and has a cane. She came with me to the Carvery section and got the meal for that gentleman and then carried a plate for my client to help him. She also helped me with my blue light card app as it was having trouble that day.
We 3 OAPs had a carvery lunch today. It was very tasty with a plentiful choice of meat and veg which was all fresh and hot. A lovely cheerful man checked our booking on entry and Barbara, our waitress, took care of drinks and food orders. What a friendly, charming, polite and efficient lady. She is a real asset. We were so well looked after on a very busy day in the restaurant. We'll be back.
Had to wait 15 minutes to be seated even though we booked. Then had to queue again for 15+ minutes for carvary. Some staff were rude - most were pleasant though. Ladies toilet dirty and no toilet roll in every cubicle, gents shown in picture. Guess they are not checked often.
