About us

A smart, casual and informative service directed by Dean awaits you. Deans journey to the Crown is remarkable one. Six years with the Waterside Inn, Bray. A year at Les Pres de Eugenie, in France. A year with Aubergine Restaurant and a number of years with the Hand and Flowers.

Food Awards and Reviews: dad has won a Michelin Star for his food, we also have a respectable score in the Good Food Guide and entry in the (have to be in) Sawday's guide. While we are not conscious of guide approval, subconsciously it's great being understood!!!

Our Tiny bar: Please no pushchairs or Children under 12 as we are a tiny place. Children over 12 are fine in the dining room, but perhaps not in the bar area.

Also we only feel like doing child's portions of our really nice grub, so sorry you will not find a child’s menu! I hope you will continue to enjoy our earnest and intense passion for our House and its ways?

See you soon then?.

Wonderful food in a pretty little village pub. A great place for walkers looking for a stop. Dog friendly in the bar area. Book ahead to avoid disappointment. Friendly staff that cannot do enough for you.

An excellent meal. More restaurant than pub, although there is indeed a public bar. Decent wines by the glass, super friendly service. Smallish menu, about 50% fish/seafood, and most of the dishes were fairly rich; the ones we had were tasty.

Lovely cosy atmosphere, makes your meal a very relaxing experience. Outstanding food, served by very pleasant staff (Amber Manager and Alice waitress). Tried Welsh Rarebit (💖), scotch eggs and breaded prawns from the snacks menu, followed by Goats cheese & beetroot tart as a starter. Followed up with Venison and Cod fillets as our mains and ended with Rice pudding and chocolate fondant for dessert. Restaurant has its own car park with plenty of parking and a lovely garden for sitting outside. I would thoroughly recommend dining here.

Birthday lunch. Fabulous menu with some different delicious twists. Decent portions. Lovely service - cheery and courteous. Lovely restaurant and cute bar. Really cosy but good 80’s tunes playing! Such a find and only 7 minutes from one of us! Will be back a lot. Thank you for the birthday plate - very kind. Anybody reading this go eat there!
