Traditionally over the last 50+ years Bedfords has been the place to drink & chat in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Today it’s no different, the owners Glen and Jonathan Carr, along with their dedicated, professional and hard working team of staff have achieved great success over the last 10 years and continue to improve and grow the ever-popular bar.
A refurbishment in 2018 saw the removal of the kitchen which has now been turned into The Vault, a secluded premium bar situated on the middle floor and a re-fit of the summer bar which serves the courtyard. Also a 10k investment into live music events has seen a new stage erected in the Upstairs bar along with a new PA and lighting set up to give you that professional feel at all live music events.
This now means Bedfords has 4 bars, this teamed with amazing wines, a vast selection of spirits from around the world, some of the cities best cocktails and a portion of Norwich’s finest live music events, all in one of the cities safest and most diverse bars, if you haven’t visited us before, you won’t be disappointed.
We were allowed in and they had coffee liqure and diet coke!!! Huraa :))
Please be careful if you're attending an event here. We brought tix through the event organiser just to find out when we got there it was not a ticketed event (£80 wasted) then the bar manager was not helpful. Assume he thought we were drunk and said that he'd back us up if asked. He did not back us up, they've denied ever being asked about tickets and how to complain etc. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL
Brilliant night again at Bedfords. It's really turned a corner in the last few years with the type of music being played. Plus, really friendly staff, it makes such a difference. Can't wait to go again!
Super time had listening 2 my mate Hugh"s bands(!) celebrating his 50th birthday in the Crypt! We're a great bunch of Past & Present people from our big little company!!
Well prepared home fresh food. Lovely atmosphere. Polite and helpful waitress. I definitely come again.
