Stopped by here while out walking on the Sunday of the King’s Coronation weekend. The whole village was just about to start a celebratory party, and the place had a nice feel about it. A family-run, traditional village pub with rooms. Looked very clean and smart inside. Will definitely return to try the Sunday Roast!

Lovely old pub/rooms in a small hamlet not far from Hertford. Friendly hosts, good home cooked food for evening meal and breakfast, and great atmosphere. Plenty of parking, beer garden and children's play area, also only 5 mins walk from Bayford Rail station into London or up to Hertford/Stevenage

Hidden gem If your anything like me, I tend to type into google ‘hidden gems’ then the area when looking for places to eat. Well this is a hidden gem, probably known to the Bayford community and now me. I drive past the bakers arms twice a day. Each time I do, something else catches my eye and I think to myself, I have to come here. So, today I was driving home from work and thought let me see what the name is. As I carried on home I thought to myself i’m coming back here tonight. Its now or never. I got home, got changed and grabbed my partner and left for the Bakers Arms. I had not googled this place or looked it up online, i just knew the name and location. All I can say is wow! As soon as we walked i we where greed so kindly by Martin and walked around to the dining room. The dining room was cosy, very well presented and clean. We both had the lasagne and it was amazing. The flavours burst in your mouth and where lasting, even the chips we ordered on the side where perfectly crisp. Both my partner and I rate our food out of 10 at home and in restaurants I can say i have never got past a 7.5. Today was the the first time I have ever heard him say a meal is a 10 and then change it to an 11. From hospitality, location and food, the Bakers Arms is a must visit. It should be in the class of a hidden gem. Im glad i followed my instincts today and got experience their venue. Thank you to both Martin and Bev for being a great host and providing impeccable food. My Partner is still talking about the lasagne now so thank you for making a lasting impression on him. We look forward to visiting again very soon. All the best Georgina and Charlie

We received a genuine cheerful welcome and shown to our room, clean tidy and warm, with a good bathroom too. Excellent local draught beer in the bar, a good choice of food, well prepared and good portions. After a good sleep, a freshly prepared cooked breakfast. A good stay, recommended. Downside... the shower could have been a bit more powerful, but it worked.

This wonderful pub is only accessible by car. I came here with family to have a meal. I ate their Sunday Roast. Staff were professional and friendly. They were helpful while finding us comfortable seating. Our meal was not rushed. I would definitely eat here again.
