We loved our visit and thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and the service was great. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that this was the residence of “the Wind and the Willows” author (Kenneth Grahame). Adding to the atmosphere is the numerous pictures displaying characters from the story. Highly recommended!

Fabulous restaurant, wonderful staff and good food! My only criticism (as a honest review) there was a LOT of salt on the chips, and even though I love salt, even I found it overwhelming. However, I think it was a one off and accidentally done - we really still enjoyed ourselves, whilst every other element of our dinner was delicious! We ordered… Starters was French onion soup, mains we chose fish & chips and the haggis and steak pie with mash, dessert was sticky toffee pudding. It’s dog friendly, which helped us decide to go there as we had our spaniel with us on the trip! Highly recommend this place!

We've always had a good experience here. Staff are friendly and efficient. Good portions have been good. Flavours well put together. Child friendly with highchair if needed. Their menu changes periodically with some innovative items. We've previously enjoyed the most amazing Caesar salad in the world, here... But sadly that's no longer on the menu. Other dishes we've had have always been of good quality. We tend to order too much and never have space for dessert, but hope to get to dessert next time!

The place is decorated beautifully and has a lovely atmosphere. The food is fresh and delicious but there were a few items not available on that day. The price is very expensive for the portion of food that you get. The lamb was beautifully cooked but could have been seasoned better. This lamb was £29 so quite expensive for the portion size. Would revisit for special occasions.

As an American visiting Edinburgh, it's worth a second, third or fourth trip back to Badger & co. The atmosphere: the place is fantastic and a little whimsical. The seating is classy, yet comfortable and matches the decor of the restaurant. The entrance really transports you into the world of Badger & co. It's an experience on its own. The food: We went for a late lunch/early dinner. So the place wasn't packed but not empty either. I had the chicken and mushroom pie with the hickory mash. A meal I don't regret and won't easily forget. The pie crust was flaky, buttery and what you would hope for in pie. The chicken and mushroom was fresh and delicious. Then, add the potatoes and you are in heaven. My husband even took several bites, after his burger. We even found a reason to go back - the Sunday roast is our next visit. The service: we had a newer waitress but she was still knowledgeable about the meals, what she didn't know she quickly got an answer to. She was so polite, so helpful and not overbearing. What I presume was the manager also came over to talk to us and he was friendly and talked to us about the ins and outs of Edinburgh in general. He gave us great recommendations! The bar: The bar is first thing you see when entering, and when I say it's fully stocked, I mean it is fully stocked! I wish we had more to say but didn't partake in the bar/drinks. We just didn't have time and energy after a long morning/day. Overall, yes. Take the short walk up the path to this restaurant 10/10
