Usually this central city pub is packed but a midweek lunch pitstop found plenty of tables free. Drink and a sandwich deals are good value at under £15 (I had sausage and sweet red onion in ciabata with lovely chips) and there's an outside courtyard for warmer days and smokers. Good range of beers, 2 bars for busy days and friendly staff make this a pub worth trying.

Good pub food and great service. The smoked salmon and King prawn linguine was tasty, although the sauce was a bit too thin and creamy for me, it was made well. The pie and chips were top class. Desserts did not disappoint although we needed a lot more sauce on the sticky toffee pudding and a lot more custard on the apple Crumble. The staff were friendly and happy to oblige with extra gravy jus as well. Highly recommended and a good solid Fullers pub that achieved the high standards I expect from Fullers.

I had spent the afternoon in Bath and had recently finished my visit to the Roman Baths. My main reason for visiting Bath was to do some night time photography. Therefore I did not want to eat too late. The Crystal Palace had caught my eye earlier in the day and, being partial to Fuller’s beer, I gave it a go. The pub is divided into a restaurant area and a bar area. I had not booked so I was pleasantly surprised to have a table in the restaurant area. My whitebait starter was beautifully cooked and slipped down well with a pint of caramel infused beer (the name of which I can’t remember but it did have “Fox” in it.) My steak and ale pie was meaty and the pastry was cooked to perfection. I find that it is not uncommon for pub food vegetables to be overcooked or watery. The cabbage and peas that came with my pie were probably the best that I have had with pub food. They were excellently cooked. The pub had a relaxed atmosphere and, for a damp and cold November evening, was pleasantly warm. I must give a special mention to Naz who was pleasant, friendly, engaging and very efficient with her service.

Good british pub food. Pie of the day—chicken and leek—was tasty, but crust was a bit too hard for me. Nevertheless I eat it all. Fish and chips was great. Loved the homemade tartar with capers. In America ours is usually made with pickle relish (it’s rubbish). Cozy vibes inside and our waitress was very kind. Service was quick—perfect if you’re part of a tour with limited time.

It was a busy day since we came on Sunday. The place was packed with people, but we could still find a table. We ordered their Sunday roast beef and pork, fish & chips and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was delicious. Large servings, and surprisingly the Yorkshire pudding was massive! The sticky toffee was also lovely! The right amount of sweetness. However, I would like to advise since I think the staff on that day were like young people or teenagers and could not even smile or greet you or tell you “give me one sec” it’ll make a difference to the customers. Although we just waited 5 minutes to be accommodated. We just looked for our own table. But still a good place to go in terms of food.
