Ate dinner in afternoon . Fish and chips .batter on fish was really good , chips were crispy , but too many for me . Reasonable price at £15.95. Pub was warm and comfortable after a walk along the beach . Friendly staff . Will definantly return . And dog friendly inside .
We were staying locally with our little whippet and decided to go here for a meal, so glad we did!! We were seated next to the roaring log fire which was soo cozy and really pleased the dog lol. The food is absolutely amazing! Prob best roast dinner I've ever had, so tasty, we then came to eat another couple of times on our holiday and each time we both had different dishes and all the meals were absolutely lovely, so flavoursome. Major compliments to the chef. All the staff are great too, very friendly and welcoming. Thank you to all at the Anchor we will definitely be back when we're in the area, such a shame that we're 3.5 hours away from you or we'd be in all the time! 👌
Lovely fresh food. Always busy. The back lounge could fo with an upgrade but welcomes dogs so thumbs up. Food is as tasty as you'll get. Prices in keeping with what's on menu. Worth every penny. Staff pleasant and helpful.
We regularly visit the Anchor, and the new managers have had a very positive impact. The food is excellent, and the interior brighter and welcoming. A warm log fire welcomes you on the darker Winter nights. The location is terrific! My one wish would be a couple more good real ales, but one ( usually Bitter and Twisted) is better than none!
Went for dinner with 6 others. I had the steak. It was a good size and perfectly cooked and very tasty. An excellent meal. I think my fellow diners all enjoyed their food, too. Service was just right, accurate and just attentive enough without unnecessary intrusion. Highly recommended.
