23/04/2013 An excellent Local, — Food delivered to the table was better than the pictures in the menu, which is the opposite of what you usually find. Food we had was very good, fresh, plentiful and well cooked. Also had a very good pint of Ale. After our first positive experience we booked in for sunday lunch which was the best carvery i think we have eaten in a pub, almost as good as a home made roast dinner. We were well looked after and we look forward to going there again adn heartily recommend others to give it a try. View
20/01/2013 Good food, owners & staff warm & friendly. — Recommended by our son in 2010, been regulars since. Lovely owners and staff really helpful whenever you go. My food choices are difficult, but they will change anything to suit me,haven't found this in pubs in the past. Not had one bad meal here. Christmas lunch was fabulous and really reasonable. (Will be there again 2013 without a doubt.)Sunday cavery excellent home cooking, hot, with good choices of meats, veg, potatoes etc., In my opinion you will be 'hard pushed' to find a better pub with a more friendly atmosphere. We are treated as part of the family and on our very first visit we were made to feel comfortable and at ease. Would recommend to anyone.. View

28/09/2013 Avoid. — Four of us went for food, 2 of us had garlic prawns, 1 came with lemon & chive the other had nothing. Good start. 2 of us had steak mid rare, when it came the waitress with attitude said 1 rare 1 medium, when this was questioned she went off to check and returned saying her mistake they were both mid rare.. When cut into 1 was definitely mid to well. 2 of us had mixed grill which arrived with no gammon. We pointed this out and with a huff off she went again returning with a piece of gammon cut in half. We had no peas, burnt sausage, rock hard egg, dry chicken & a tiny piece of steak which I could have resoled my shoes with. Thank god for the gammon & onion rings which were tasty. Parts of this could be forgiven if the place was busy, but there were only 2 other tables of 2 in there. We were not expecting fine dining, just decent service & decent food, neither of which we got. Would we go back? Not a chance. View
