The Bridge Tavern is a Brewpub & Eatery located in Newcastle upon Tyne
The Bridge Tavern is situated betwixt and between the stanchions of the North Easts most iconic landmark - The Tyne Bridge. There has been a Hostelry and Ale House on this site for nearly two centuries with the original building being demolished in 1925 to make way for the bridge.
Housed on the ground floor of the pub and in full view our 2 hectolitre micro brewery is fully operational. We brew in association with Wylam Brewery the regions leading craft brewer. Our in house brewer mashes daily creating bespoke 360 pint batches of cask and keg ale - when it's gone it's gone!.
The place was bouncing, standing room only. We had booked a table for food, the table was ready for us. The food was decent. Great service and friendly staff.
I really enjoyed coming here. I was a bit dubious given the overall energy but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really delicious and despite some of the pricing being a little high it was really good. We had a nice table with lots of space and the service was also really good. Thanks for being so attentive. The toilets are not really accessible as are up the stairs but they were clean and nice.
Very cosy brown pub with a good atmosphere, kind and helpful staff. Quite a big portion of Fish & Chips with delicious cod, potatos, Tartar souce and a crispy green kale. Really good!!
Yum!!! The salted duck is amazing. Super meaty and flavorful, cooked perfectly, fat really nice, and cabbage absolutely delicious!!!! The mashed potatoes could be improved by the addition of garlic but so would all mashed potatoes and that is more a general opinion that I hold to be universal truth than a criticism. Bread and butter pudding definitely left something to be desired - while tasty, I'm not at all convinced that it wasn't just baked bread with custard and raisins on top. Pour some egg, milk, and cinnamon over the bread before you bake it please😂
First visit in a few years and delighted it's still a great pub. Good selection of cask & craft beer. Excellent pub grub and friendly staff.
